Singapore's scenic spots welcome Chinese intelligent robot dogs

In the evening, the number of tourists to Singapore's famous tourist attraction, Heart of Sentosa, gradually increased. The sea breeze blows and music plays, and 5 intelligent robotic dogs dance to the rhythm. They jump, turn, roll, and interact with tourists after the dance. Many children excitedly ran around them, while adults raised their phones to take pictures. Meilin, a tourist from Paris, France, excitedly held a robotic dog and kept asking her mother to take photos and videos of her. It feels like walking a real dog, it's so fun, "she said. After returning to France, she must share these photos and videos with her friends. From April 18th to May 17th this year, the Singapore Tourism Board collaborated with Chinese tourism platform Mafengwo to launch a pilot service for intelligent robotic dogs in Sentosa and Wonderland Wildlife World in Singapore. Intelligent robotic dogs from China not only speak, but also guide, dance, and act cute, bringing a brand new smart tourism experience to tourists from all over the world. The reporter learned from Mafengwo that these robotic dogs come from Yushu Technology. Mafengwo has specially "trained" them according to the tourism scene - through multilingual interactive explanations and multimodal environmental perception ability, they can actively recognize the surrounding scene, understand the needs of tourists, answer questions through reasoning, and interact with tourists through various body movements. Previously, they had already appeared at several domestic tourist attractions in China, such as Qianhu Miao Village in Guizhou. This visit to Singapore is the first official overseas "work". Wu Xiangyun, Director of Business and Experience Development at Sentosa Development Authority in Singapore, told reporters that there are currently 5 robotic dogs in operation at Sentosa. They may be busier than me, "he said. Every day, these robotic dogs need to complete scheduled guided tours, multiple dance performances, and also roam around the park to interact with tourists. Tourists can not only ask these robotic dogs for directions, but also receive personalized recommendations: for example, family tourists may receive information about parent-child restaurants, while young tourists may receive recommendations for scenic spots suitable for photo taking and check-in. The robotic dog will provide explanations based on its location, creating a more immersive experience for tourists. The reporter saw at the scene that many tourists were originally just passing by, but attracted by the robotic dogs, they stopped to experience, took photos, had conversations, and interacted with them. Currently, over 5000 tourists have interacted with robotic dogs. Whether it's the performance or the tour guide, everyone's feedback is very good. ”Wu Xiangyun told reporters that another important goal of this pilot program is to continuously collect tourist interaction data through robotic dogs, including crowded areas, tourist preferences, common questions, etc., and then continuously optimize the system through large-scale language models to enhance the overall tourism experience of tourists. The Singapore Tourism Board stated that this pilot project is an important step towards enhancing the tourist experience through technology and innovation. In recent years, Singapore has been promoting the "Smart Nation" plan, and the tourism industry has become an important testing ground for the landing of artificial intelligence technology. Compared to traditional smart tourism that emphasizes online booking, electronic payment, or data management, these robotic dogs are more focused on providing "physical artificial intelligence" services. Artificial intelligence is no longer just a backend algorithm, but directly enters real tourism scenes, undertaking various functions such as navigation, interaction, route recommendation, and performances. From China to Singapore, Chinese intelligent robotic dogs have brought a technological warmth to tourists from various countries. They are no longer just cold programs, but can also be "companions" who can touch, communicate, and even complete the journey together. (Looking into the New Era)
