The Uzbekistan China (Hong Kong) Business Forum, co hosted by the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in China, was held in Hong Kong on the 6th. The attending parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as deepening economic and trade cooperation and expanding new spaces for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam attended the forum and delivered a speech, stating that Hong Kong is an ideal partner for Uzbekistan enterprises to explore the Chinese market. Hong Kong not only understands international business rules, but also gathers professional talents in finance, law, accounting, arbitration and other fields, which can provide efficient and professional services for international enterprises. Against the backdrop of complex and ever-changing global geopolitics and accelerated adjustments in trade and investment patterns, Hong Kong has a stable, reliable, and highly internationalized business environment. Uzbekistan Prime Minister Alipov stated in his speech that mineral resources make significant contributions to the economic development of Uzbekistan. He invited Hong Kong and mainland enterprises to deepen cooperation in fields such as precious metals. In terms of green energy, Alipov stated that Uzbekistan has transformed from an electricity importing country to an electricity exporting country and welcomes Hong Kong companies to actively participate in its energy sector investment projects. The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Qiu Yinghua, stated that Uzbekistan is an important regional hub in Central Asia, while Hong Kong is the leading connectivity platform in Asia, with highly complementary advantages between the two sides. He pointed out that in the future, both sides can engage in deep cooperation in fields such as green development, digital economy, healthcare, and innovative technology, and work together to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Chen Hongdao, Director of the Investment and Green Industry Development Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Hong Kong, stated that as an important bridge for official investment cooperation and a strategic platform for green industry development, the center relies on Hong Kong's internationalization advantages to promote economic and trade investment exchanges, assist Chinese enterprises in "going global", and act as a bridge for Hong Kong's business community to explore the Central Asian market. On the day of the event, the forum also held the "Made in Uzbekistan" exhibition, showcasing key industries such as food, mining, jewelry, chemicals, technology, energy, handicrafts, light industry, and tourism. Uzbekistan government officials and industry representatives introduced relevant investment opportunities on site.
