On the 6th, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that it has recently approved the first commercial trial of satellite IoT business. Beijing Guodian High tech Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guodian High tech") has been approved to carry out commercial trials of satellite IoT business, with a trial period of two years. During the trial period, Guodian High tech can legally pilot the operation of satellite IoT business, relying on the "Tianqi Constellation" to provide users with wide coverage, low power consumption, and high reliability IoT connection services, and achieve all-weather, intelligent data collection and remote control in fields such as marine fisheries, energy and water conservancy, transportation and logistics. As the commercialization process of China's satellite communication industry continues to accelerate, the satellite Internet of Things will become an important supplement to China's broadband satellite Internet. In November 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially launched commercial trials of satellite IoT services, aiming to provide a low-speed data service through satellite communication technology for various devices such as data collection terminals, wearable devices, handheld terminals, as well as transportation vehicles such as automobiles, ships, and airplanes with wide area IoT connectivity. The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that organizing commercial trials of satellite IoT services is conducive to promoting the formation of economies of scale in satellite IoT, and building a standardized, orderly, collaborative, complementary, and win-win development pattern; Helps to stimulate the vitality of the private economy, support the development of commercial aerospace, cultivate new quality productivity, and build a modern industrial system. It is reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will further optimize the access to the satellite communication market, strengthen full chain supervision and security guarantees, and promote the high-quality development of China's satellite communication industry.
