On May 5, 2026, China's first privately-owned scientific research vessel, the "Haiying Jiake", was completed and launched in Songmen Town, Wenling City, Zhejiang Province. This scientific research vessel, built with a private capital investment of about 150 million yuan, has a total length of 82 meters, a planned full load displacement of 3500 tons, a cruising range of 10000 nautical miles, and a self-sustaining capacity of over 60 days. It has the ability to conduct interdisciplinary comprehensive investigations in unlimited navigation areas. Its investors are 37 fishermen from Wenling City, Zhejiang Province.
