Currently, wild mushrooms are entering a period of vigorous growth. Many citizens cannot resist picking and tasting fresh mushrooms during their outings. In Wuxi, Jiangsu, three citizens were urgently sent to the hospital for treatment due to poisoning from consuming wild mushrooms. It is reported that all three patients are around 40 years old. When they were urgently sent to the emergency department of the North Hospital of Wuxi Second Hospital, they all had varying degrees of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. The doctor made a preliminary judgment that it was food poisoning, so he inquired about their eating habits. Li Jiang'an, Deputy Director of the Emergency Medicine Department at Wuxi Second People's Hospital, said that the mushrooms were wild mushrooms picked from the mountains and the color was not bright. They should be edible and were stir fried for lunch. Since the afternoon, these symptoms have appeared. After understanding the situation, the doctor immediately performed treatment measures such as gastric lavage and catheterization for the three patients. Fortunately, they didn't eat too many mushrooms and sought medical attention in a timely manner, and all three of them were saved from life-threatening situations. The reporter learned from the Wuxi Center for Disease Control and Prevention that in the past decade, there have been incidents of poisoning caused by self harvesting and consumption of mushrooms in Wuxi every year. Among them, the large green pleated umbrella, also known as the "ICU mushroom", is the most toxic mushroom that has caused the most poisoning incidents in Wuxi. Big green pleated umbrella, with a hemispherical cap when young, flattened when mature, slightly raised in the middle, initially appearing dirty white or light brown, and turning green green or light green gray when mature. Commonly found in parks, lawns, residential green belts, roadsides, vegetable gardens, and other places after rain. The appearance is easily confused with edible chicken leg mushrooms, so people often mistake it for food. Doctors remind that it is difficult to distinguish whether wild mushrooms are poisonous, so do not pick and consume them casually. Li Jiang'an, Deputy Director of the Emergency Medicine Department of Wuxi Second People's Hospital: Do not pick wild mushrooms by yourself, nor buy wild mushrooms sold on small stalls. These are not safe. It is difficult to distinguish between poisonous mushrooms and normal mushrooms, so don't take this risk just because you have experience. (Looking into the New Era)
