On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Navy, the launching ceremony of the "Love My Hometown, Love My Ship" deepening city ship joint construction activity in Yunnan Province was recently held in Yuxi City. At the launching ceremony, representatives from the navy's Yuxi and Fuxianhu ships spoke out, expressing their firm belief in guarding the thousands of miles of maritime territory and cherishing their "second hometown". The Yuxi Municipal Party Committee and Government presented Yuxi scenery paintings to the officers and soldiers of two "hometown ships", conveying the deep friendship from the "second hometown". Subsequently, there was a spectacular performance of the "Double Support Art", with programs such as "Love the People, Love the Army" and "Our Ship Flag Flies High", showcasing the sincere emotions of the people of Yunling who love the Party, the country, and the army. After the ceremony, the military and civilian sides held a symposium on city ship joint construction, which focused on deepening exchanges and cooperation, expanding the content of joint construction, and conducting in-depth discussions. In this joint construction activity, representatives of the navy Yuxi ship and Fuxianhu ship entered the emerging campus of Nie'er Elementary School to carry out national defense education lectures, present national flags and warship models, and participate in the opening ceremony of the navy cultural library. They also went to Chengjiang and other places to conduct on-site visits of "hometown ship to understand hometown", experiencing Yunnan's rapid development achievements and colorful ethnic culture up close. It is reported that Yunnan Province currently has 11 naval vessels named after cities within the province. In recent years, various named cities have actively created a strong social atmosphere of "love my hometown, love my ship" through forms such as the Navy Culture Film Week and urban outdoor large screen exhibitions.
