Italian ATA-NXM Imaginative. Recently, Leonardo da Vinci of Italy released the conceptual plan for the next generation military tiltrotor aircraft ATA-NXM. ATA-NXM is the successor model of the commercial AW609, with a maximum takeoff weight of 11 to 13 tons, significantly higher than the takeoff weight of AW609 (6 tons). This model adopts a duck shaped layout and a V-shaped tail wing, with a short cabin added under the wings. The engine is moved from the wingtip to a position close to the fuselage to reduce wing weight and improve aerodynamic efficiency. In addition, this model supports the installation of a rear cargo hold ramp to accommodate transportation and logistics tasks. Currently, military tiltrotor aircraft continue to receive attention. Although this type of aircraft has complex structures and high safety control difficulties, its advantages of integrating vertical takeoff and landing, high-speed cruising, and long-range flight capabilities are still valued by military forces in many countries. Leonardo da Vinci's public concept plan aims to prepare for possible military bidding in the future.
