In late March, a practical tactical assessment of a certain company in a certain brigade of the 74th Group Army came to an end. Unfortunately, the first team failed due to delayed handling of equipment failures. Upon reviewing the scene, several young soldiers lowered their heads and looked ashamed. Class monitor Sun Qiang was very puzzled: "We practice equipment operation and troubleshooting every day, and everyone usually completes them well. Why did we fall behind at critical moments?" After a moment of silence, Private Xiao Kairen stuttered and replied, "You watch our training normally, and we have confidence in our hearts. This time you're not here, we dare not get started..." This answer left Sun Qiang somewhat speechless. At present, many young soldiers grow up in favorable environments and have sensitive and delicate minds. Sun Qiang has always been patient with them. He was not familiar with equipment operation, so he demonstrated teaching hand in hand; Unable to remember the parameters firmly, he immediately provided the standard answer; When problems arise in work tasks, he goes all out to provide support... Even if there are some problems that soldiers have the ability to solve, as long as they seek help, Sun Qiang will always respond to them. However, such "meticulousness" has led young soldiers to develop a dependency habit of "calling the squad leader when necessary", and once the squad leader is not around, they will panic. For this assessment, the guidance and adjustment team has set up a special situation of "temporary departure of the squad leader and independent disposal of combatants". Faced with familiar equipment malfunctions, the soldiers instinctively turned their heads to look for the squad leader's figure. When they saw no one behind them, they panicked and dared not operate. They could only watch time pass by minute by second, ultimately delaying the fighter jet. The more the commander takes charge, the more likely the soldier is to lack the courage to take on responsibilities. ”Upon review and reflection, the cadres of the company realized that excessive concern among the backbone can easily lead to laziness and dependence among young soldiers, which invisibly weakens their practical ability to think independently, adapt to situations, and handle situations independently. To this end, the company requires cadres and key personnel to transform their mentoring concepts and methods, no longer directly helping and providing answers, but focusing on imparting key points and guiding ideas, effectively enhancing the ability of young soldiers to independently solve problems. At the same time, they guided the soldiers to realize that the battlefield situation is constantly changing, and it is impossible to have someone to "escort and protect" them at all times. If the dependence mentality is not broken, it will be difficult to adapt to the requirements of actual combat and complete winning tasks. Now entering the company, young soldiers no longer shout 'squad leader' in every detail. In the training ground, there are fewer people waiting for help, more people taking the initiative to tackle challenges, fewer people being afraid of their hands and feet, and more people boldly dealing with them. Xiao Kairen said, "In the past, I always thought 'anyway, there's a squad leader here', and I didn't want or dare to study and do it myself. Now I understand that towering trees can't grow in a greenhouse. If you rely on others all the time, you can't become a qualified soldier
