In late spring, how to enhance immunity has become a hot topic of public concern. On the 23rd, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine held a themed press conference on "Traditional Chinese Medicine for Strengthening the Body and Protecting Health". Several experts systematically introduced the concept and practical methods of traditional Chinese medicine for strengthening the body and enhancing immunity, focusing on children and adolescents, the workplace, the elderly, and people with allergies. Ouyang Bo, Deputy Director of the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and Ethnic Minority Medicine of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, pointed out that the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon emphasizes that "positive qi is stored in the body, and evil cannot be dried up". Traditional Chinese medicine is based on "positive qi" and "preventing diseases before they occur". It advocates moving the checkpoint forward and preventing diseases before they occur. By identifying the constitution, caring for the spleen and stomach, regulating emotions and harmonizing qi and blood, it can effectively consolidate the foundation of health. Jiang Quan, chief physician of Guang'anmen Hospital of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that health preserving exercises such as Ba Duan Jin can regulate qi and blood, cultivate and supplement positive qi, and long-term practice can improve immune status and relieve fatigue. She particularly recommends the two movements of "using both hands to support the Heavenly Principles and Three Jiao" and "dispelling all diseases with seven movements behind the back", and reminds elderly people to lower their feet gently. Patients with acute illness, severe hypertension, and heart disease should practice under the guidance of a doctor. In response to the high incidence of allergies in spring, Zhang Jin, chief physician of Xiyuan Hospital of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, pointed out that the essence of allergies is "insufficient positive energy and external pathogenic factors", and treatment should "strengthen the body and prevent pathogenic factors". She suggested soaking Astragalus membranaceus in water or stewing chicken to replenish qi and stabilize the surface, and consuming yam, Job's tears, and other foods to invigorate the spleen and dispel dampness; During the non attack period, you can try applying acupoint patches such as Sanfu Tie and Sanjiu Tie. Daily attention should be paid to wearing masks, cleaning nasal cavities, and avoiding spicy foods during the attack period. Jiang Quan proposed a "three-step adjustment method" to address chronic fatigue caused by staying up late, sitting for long periods of time, and high stress in the workplace: going to bed before 11pm, taking a nap to nourish the heart and blood; After sitting for 40 minutes, get up and move around. You can tap the outer thigh gallbladder meridian to stimulate yang energy; Focus on breathing or massaging the Danzhong acupoint for 10 minutes every day to relieve anxiety. She reminded that improving immunity cannot rely solely on supplementing vitamins, but should start with lifestyle habits such as staying up late, exercising more, and regulating emotions.
