New Heart Language | Shoulder the Responsibility of Winning the Battle
2026-04-21
Mo Shangchun arrived early, and it was the right time to train troops. Recently, I saw at a tactical training site of a certain brigade that the brigade leader broke the tradition of "the staff officer speaks first, and the leader makes a summary", taking the lead in judging and deducing, and leading the operation process. This pragmatic style of party members and cadres shouldering the responsibility of winning battles and taking the lead in researching and planning for battles is welcomed by grassroots officers and soldiers. Party members and cadres taking the lead in charging forward is the most effective political work, the most powerful mobilization order, and also a fine tradition of our army. During the revolutionary war era, commanders at all levels shouted "follow me" and took the lead in charging forward; In times of peace, Party members and cadres take the lead in fighting on the front lines of conflict, disaster relief, and military training and preparation. With the responsibility of leading by example, they gather the confidence and strength of officers and soldiers who dare to fight and win. However, in reality, there are still a few commanders who lack in-depth research and understanding of the winning mechanisms in modern warfare, and use old tactics to plan future wars; Individual units' preparation for war has become a mere formality, and they dare not train in dangerous and difficult courses, and their actual combat standards are not realistic, resulting in superficial training; Some officers and soldiers lack a strong sense of crisis and still have a paralyzed mentality of "not being able to start a war, and not being able to turn to me when it comes to fighting", preparing for war with a non war mentality; Some preparations for war deviate from the needs of combat, leading to scattered energy among officers and soldiers and low training efficiency... Currently, political training is advancing in depth. Party committees at all levels must adhere to making preparations for war their top priority, continuously improve their ability to lead and plan for war, and deeply rectify the accumulated problems of peace. We must seriously rectify the problems of weakened combat readiness awareness, softened combat standards, and degraded ability to win wars, and draw the sword to formalism and bureaucracy on the training ground. We must continuously practice and test the training style, and ensure that the effectiveness of training is focused on the generation of combat effectiveness. Leaders and cadres should inherit and carry forward the fine traditions of our party and army, set an example and lead by example, establish a standard for warfare, focus all their efforts on warfare, and put all their efforts into warfare. They should take the lead in researching modern warfare, understanding the mechanisms of victory, daring to tackle tough problems and risks, leading officials and soldiers to correct their complacent thinking, overcome their fear of difficulties, train their ability to kill enemies, and forge their troops into a powerful and victorious army that can fight well. Having the courage to fight and the ability to win is inseparable from strict supervision. At all levels, we should improve the supervision and accountability mechanism for preparing for war, focus on key aspects such as command ability and practical training, consolidate the main responsibility of the Party committee for preparing for war, the supervision responsibility of the discipline inspection commission, and the responsibility of the heads of government departments. We should hold accountable those who fail to prepare for war, lack practical training style, and have low standards, and timely commend and encourage those who strive to be the first and have outstanding achievements. We should not only pay close attention to the "key minority" of commanders, but also cover all officers and soldiers, deepen the rigidity of political training, truly promote the transformation of the army from "passive combat" to "active combat", and leap from "being able to fight" to "winning", transform the effectiveness of political training into tangible combat effectiveness, and ensure that the people's army remains pure and glorious, always daring to fight and win.
