The meeting emphasized the need to adhere to coordinated development and safety, and to carry out road testing and demonstration applications of intelligent connected vehicles in a steady and orderly manner. Each region should conduct comprehensive self inspection and evaluation based on recent security incidents, identify and analyze the main problems, and conscientiously carry out rectification work; To establish a sound working mechanism, improve relevant management policies, strengthen safety supervision throughout the entire process, enhance emergency response capabilities, and ensure the safe and orderly conduct of testing and demonstration activities. The meeting also emphasized that relevant departments will continue to improve the management system of autonomous driving, establish a three-level technology maturity and safety evaluation mechanism at the national, local, and enterprise levels, further strengthen the construction of emergency support capabilities, and promote the high-quality development of the intelligent connected vehicle industry with high-level safety. Experts told reporters that this meeting was a systematic summary and policy response after the joint supervision of relevant departments against the problems exposed by events such as Apollo Go "lying down" during the recent test of ICV. The core of this meeting is to transform the supervision results of individual cases into the rules prevailing in the industry. Ji Xuehong, Director of the Automotive Industry Innovation Research Center at North China University of Technology, believes that currently, autonomous driving taxis (Robotaxis) are still in the demonstration operation stage, and there is still a certain distance to go before they can truly mature for commercial operation.
