68 Beijing Tianjin Hebei science and technology innovation enterprises signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hong Kong institutions

On the 12th, 68 science and technology innovation enterprises from the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region signed memorandums of understanding for development and cooperation in Hong Kong with institutions such as the Hong Kong Beijing Alumni Alliance, Hong Kong Cyberport, and Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, providing a platform for enterprises to settle in Hong Kong, expand international markets, and deepen scientific research cooperation. The above memorandum signing event was held at the 2026 Third Hong Kong World Youth Science Conference and the Hong Kong Nobel Forum, which opened on the same day. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, stating that the national "15th Five Year Plan" supports Hong Kong's construction of an international innovation and technology center. As a "super contact person" and "super value-added person", Hong Kong has built a good platform for science and technology innovation enterprise operators and investors around the world with its advantages of an open and transparent business environment and an internationally aligned common law system. At the opening ceremony of the conference, the launching ceremony for the establishment of the Asia Europe International Alliance for Technological Innovation, Development and Cooperation (referred to as the "Alliance") was also held. Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that the establishment of the alliance will further enhance Hong Kong's advantage in "internal and external communication" in the field of science and technology innovation. As an international city, Hong Kong will strive to facilitate the establishment of more international organizations here. This year's "Xiangjiang Nobel Forum" brings together 8 Nobel laureates and 1 Turing Award winner to discuss topics related to artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and other fields with experts, scholars, and industry representatives from around the world in the field of science and technology innovation. Tim Hunt, the winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, stated in a media interview that Hong Kong is a vibrant city with rising innovation and research capabilities.
