Space computing power achieves real-time data processing in orbit with global coverage by deploying computing, storage, and communication resources in space. Space computing power involves multiple fields such as computing chips, inter satellite communication, energy supply and cooling, and satellite manufacturing. It has multiple advantages such as low-cost energy and wide area coverage, which helps to improve the efficiency of "days" processing, enhance space energy development capabilities, improve global coverage and anti-interference capabilities, expand network application boundaries, and has important strategic value and broad industrial prospects. Traditional ground data centers face multiple bottlenecks such as high energy consumption, limited land resources, high heat dissipation costs, and limited coverage, making it difficult to meet the computing power demands of future large-scale, green low-carbon, and global coverage. Developing space computing power can fundamentally break the energy and space constraints of ground computing power, providing a new type of computing power supply that is zero carbon, green, sustainable, and widely covered for the digital economy. Space computing power is the extension and integration of ground industries in space, and it is the forefront layout for building a global ubiquitous computing power network, which will strongly support the high-quality development of applications such as artificial intelligence. ”Li Jie, Deputy Director of Yunda Institute of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, said. The new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is advancing rapidly, and the demand for artificial intelligence computing power is exploding. The deployment of global low orbit satellite constellations is accelerating, and space computing power has become a new highland for cultivating new quality productivity. Multiple constellation networking plans have been carried out in an orderly manner, experimental satellite in orbit verification and large-scale model in orbit deployment have been steadily promoted, industry university research cooperation has deepened, and the industrial ecology has gradually been constructed. According to Xie Lina, Deputy Director of the Data Center Department at Yunda Institute of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China is the first country to achieve in orbit network operation of space computing constellations. It has taken the lead in engineering practice and commercial landing speed in the world, and is in the top tier of the global space computing power track. China still faces many challenges in developing space computing power. Lu Jianhua, an academician of the CAS Member, a professor of Tsinghua University, and director of the National Key Laboratory of Space based Network and Communication, said frankly that the high-speed networking of heaven and earth, distributed processing of computing and communication, space-based intelligent computing chips, space cooling, and commercial closed-loop of space computing are all problems that need to be solved urgently. In addition, it is necessary to consider the sources of space resources, the acquisition of computing network frequency resources, and how to further achieve global services as prerequisites. Zhao Ce introduced that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will support relevant units to actively carry out forward-looking research on space computing technology. Gradually establish a standard system covering software and hardware, network, security and other aspects, promote the research and development of technologies and products such as spaceborne anti radiation chips and inter satellite laser communication, enhance full stack technology capabilities, and consolidate the foundation of industrial development. At the same time, strengthen application traction, cultivate application scenarios and service models. Explore the application of space computing power in scenarios such as real-time remote sensing processing, communication enhancement, and spatiotemporal information, and explore innovative integrated services for "communication and remote computing"; Support in orbit data processing in areas such as low altitude economy and emergency communication, and accelerate technological iteration and commercial cycles through practical scenario applications; Promote the integrated development of computing power and satellite Internet, and accelerate the ecological cultivation of space computing power industry. At the meeting, the industry's first collaborative platform for the space computing power industry, the "Space Computing Power Professional Committee," was officially established, which will promote the space computing power industry from technology verification to a new stage of scale and commercialization, and create a space computing power industry ecosystem that integrates all factors; The Beijing Space Computing Innovation Center has also initiated construction, focusing on five major directions: space-based AI chips, space energy and heat dissipation, constellation and spacecraft, collaboration between space, sky, and earth computing networks, and space computing applications; The Beijing Economic Development Zone Management Committee has led the release of the "List of Key Common Technologies for Space Computing", which will support 10 key projects with a maximum funding of 10 million yuan per project.
