On the occasion of the 78th World Health Day, the sixth batch of Chinese peacekeeping helicopter squadrons sent to Abuja carried out a series of activities such as "safeguarding health, fulfilling missions, and supporting peace" themed health education, medical patrols, and hygiene rectification, using practical actions to safeguard the health of Chinese and foreign officers and soldiers and local people, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of China's Blue Helmets. The climate in the Abei mission area is hot, medical resources are scarce, and the pressure of infectious disease prevention and health security is prominent. Based on the actual task, the team organized health knowledge lectures for medical staff, focusing on the prevention of tropical infectious diseases, trauma first aid, psychological health adjustment, etc., to popularize practical protective skills for officers and soldiers. In view of the characteristics of high temperature operation and high intensity flight support, the medical team refined the health monitoring program, carried out physical examination screening and traditional Chinese medicine physiotherapy services, alleviated the fatigue of training duty through acupuncture and moxibustion and massage, and strengthened the physical and mental health defense line of officers and soldiers. During the event, the medical team of the team visited civilian communities and United Nations friendly military sites in the mission area to provide public welfare medical services. Medical staff measure blood pressure and conduct physical examinations for local residents and soldiers of the United Nations Security Forces, popularize knowledge about drinking water hygiene, mosquito and insect protection, epidemic prevention and control, and distribute commonly used drugs and health manuals free of charge. Faced with public consultation, officers and soldiers patiently explained and provided detailed diagnosis and treatment, building a healthy bridge with professionalism and warmth, and receiving unanimous praise. The detachment carried out environmental disinfection and sterilization and food hygiene and safety screening in the camp simultaneously, improved the medical supplies reserve and emergency rescue process, and comprehensively improved the medical service support capability. All officers and soldiers expressed that they will take World Health Day as an opportunity to continue practicing the spirit of humanitarianism, integrate health protection into the entire peacekeeping process, and conscientiously safeguard life and health while completing tasks such as air patrols, personnel delivery, and material transportation.
