Guinea is located in West Africa and was the first sub Saharan African country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have always adhered to mutual respect and equal treatment, supported each other in the face of changing circumstances, and walked hand in hand on the journey of development. From hydropower stations lighting up thousands of lights, to mineral development supporting industrial upgrading; From the development of railway ports to hospitals and schools benefiting people's livelihoods, mutually beneficial cooperation projects have taken root in Guinea, effectively benefiting both countries and peoples, becoming a vivid epitome of sincere friendship, solidarity and cooperation between China and Africa. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between China and Africa. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Guinea has continued to deepen, traditional friendship has become stronger, and mutually beneficial cooperation has yielded fruitful results. In February of this year, President Xi Jinping announced in his congratulatory message to the 39th African Union Summit that China will fully implement zero tariff measures on 53 African countries with diplomatic relations from May 1, 2026. This major measure vividly demonstrates China's great power responsibility and the profound friendship between China and Africa, which will effectively promote the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa at a new historical starting point and achieve common development. Deepening friendly cooperation between China and several countries will usher in broader prospects. Traditional friendship and mutual support are the solid foundation for the stable and far-reaching development of China Guinea relations. For a long time, China has always supported the people of Guinea in choosing a development path that suits their own national conditions; Several parties firmly adhere to the One China principle and have consistently provided firm support on issues related to China's core interests and major concerns. Currently, the world's century long changes are accelerating, with hegemonism and unilateralism rampant, posing challenges to world peace and development, as well as the prosperity and revitalization of the global South. Both China and Guinea need to watch over each other, strengthen communication and coordination in international affairs, jointly defend the interests of developing countries and international fairness and justice, and promote the development of the international order towards a more just and reasonable direction. Mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, promoting development together, are the inexhaustible driving force for China Guinea cooperation to forge ahead. Guinea is rich in resources and has great development potential. China has a complete industrial system, mature development experience, and a super large market, providing ample space for cooperation between the two sides. In recent years, the trade volume between China and Guinea has repeatedly reached new highs, exceeding 18 billion US dollars by 2025. The implementation of zero tariff measures will enable Guinea's characteristic products to enter the Chinese market more smoothly, effectively reduce trade costs, and share the dividends of the Chinese market. With the support of high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and the "Simandou 2040" strategic planning, the cooperation between the two countries in mining, agriculture, infrastructure, green industry, digital economy and other fields will surely achieve more results, further help Guinea's employment and industrial upgrading, and continue to inject new momentum into the modernization process of the two countries. Civilization mutual learning and people to people matchmaking are the profound bonds that have passed down the friendship between China and Guinea from generation to generation. Chinese medical teams have long been rooted in the local area, spreading warmth with great love; More and more local youth are entering the Confucius Institute at the University of Conakry, learning Chinese and experiencing Chinese culture has become a trend. Not long ago, I attended the Spring Festival celebration with the Prime Minister of Guinea, Uli, marking the beginning of the "China Africa Cultural Exchange Year" in Guinea. The two countries will further encourage cultural exchanges and cooperation, strengthen exchanges between young people and personnel at all levels, and deepen the friendship between China and Guinea at the grassroots level, injecting a continuous stream of cultural strength into the development of bilateral relations. China and Guinea are good brothers who support each other and are also fellow travelers for development and revitalization. Looking ahead to the future, China is full of confidence in the sustained development of bilateral relations and the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
