The groundbreaking ceremony for Runze (Hong Kong) Shaling Data Park was recently held in Hong Kong. Over 300 industry professionals and partners witnessed the official launch of Hong Kong's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure project. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Li Li, President of Runze Intelligent Computing Technology Group Co., Ltd., delivered a speech stating that the Shaling project achieved "land acquisition and construction in the same month", fully demonstrating the high attention and efficient service of the Special Administrative Region government to the development of innovation and science. Runze Technology will focus on three major missions: building a solid foundation for AI, empowering the ecology of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and working with Hong Kong enterprises to jointly build an industrial ecology. Starting from this, it will continue to invest in Hong Kong. The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Sun Dong, stated that the launch of the Runze (Hong Kong) Sha Ling Data Park project is not only an important milestone in Hong Kong's innovation and technology development, but also a crucial step towards the development of the northern metropolitan area from blueprint to reality. The Shaling Data Park is located at an important hub of the Hong Kong Shenzhen Port Economic Belt, with significant geographical advantages. In the future, it can form efficient complementarity with the data industry chain and computing power cluster in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, becoming the core engine for promoting the development of Hong Kong's artificial intelligence industry. In March of this year, the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government officially announced that the land for the Sha Ling Data Park in the northern New Territories had been tendered, and the Runze (Sha Ling) Intelligent Computing Center project had landed in the northern metropolitan area of Hong Kong. It is reported that Runze (Hong Kong) Shaling Data Park is located in the core hinterland of the northern metropolitan area, with an investment scale of HKD 23.8 billion in the first three years, which can create approximately HKD 4.6 billion in economic output and 180 technical positions. The park is expected to be put into operation within 42 months. The park covers an area of over 110000 square meters, with a total floor area of 250000 square meters. By 2032, the computing power scale of the park can reach 180000 trillion floating-point operations per second, equivalent to 36 times the current computing power in Hong Kong. During an interview, Zhou Chaonan, Chairman of Runze Intelligent Computing Technology Group Co., Ltd., stated that Hong Kong has excellent conditions for schools and talent gathering. Runze came to Hong Kong with firm steps and hopes to build Shaling into a "Silicon Valley" and innovation hub for Hong Kong and even China through efforts. To efficiently promote this project, the Special Administrative Region Government has established a special team led by the Digital Policy Office, in collaboration with multiple departments of the Special Administrative Region Government, and officially put it into operation on the same day.
