Since the renaming of the "Boao Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone" to "Boao Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone" in March 2025, the demonstration zone has achieved significant results in energy conservation and carbon reduction, and has fully entered the stage of normalized "zero carbon operation". According to actual measurement data, the energy related carbon dioxide emissions from buildings and municipal infrastructure in the Boao Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone have decreased from 11350.1 tons in 2019 to about 14.6 tons by 2025, achieving a carbon reduction of 99.9%. The demonstration zone produces 29 million kilowatt hours of green electricity throughout the year, which not only meets the annual electricity demand of about 19.4 million kilowatt hours in the demonstration zone, but also connects the remaining 9.6 million kilowatt hours of green electricity to the grid.
