In recent years, with the accelerated construction of LEO satellite constellations, the application of satellite Internet in mobile phone direct connection, emergency communication, marine fishery, transportation logistics, remote area communication guarantee and other fields has been expanding. China's satellite Internet industry has become increasingly active and its industrial capacity is growing. This year's government work report proposed to "accelerate the development of satellite Internet". In order to give full play to the leading and fundamental role of standardization in the construction of new satellite Internet infrastructure and promote the healthy development of the intelligent economy, the newly established National Technical Committee for Standardization of Satellite Internet Systems and Services will, in view of the prominent characteristics of the rapid development of industrial technology and the influx of diverse business entities, widely gather all forces, promote the sharing of industrial resources, accelerate the development of urgently needed standards such as satellite Internet terminology, constellation on orbit operation evaluation, and key system products, constantly improve the satellite Internet standard system, actively participate in the formulation of international standards, and promote the rapid, standardized and healthy development of the satellite Internet industry.
