More patience is needed for future industries

2026-03-20

2026 is undoubtedly a big year for embodied intelligence. Under the wave of enthusiasm, newcomers came in droves. More and more signs indicate that the technological explosion and industrial restructuring are reaching a critical juncture. Focusing on the field of embodied intelligence, major countries around the world have taken significant actions at the policy level. From the perspective of China, from the inclusion of "embodied intelligence" in the government work report, to the issuance of the "Opinions on Deepening the Implementation of 'Artificial Intelligence+' Action", to the "15th Five Year Plan" outline proposing to "promote quantum technology, biomanufacturing, hydrogen energy and nuclear fusion energy, brain computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, sixth generation mobile communication, etc. as new economic growth points"... intensive policy measures indicate that this industry has entered the core strategic layout at the national level. Of course, from specific to universal, from virtual world to physical world, the embodied intelligence industry is still facing unprecedented attempts to move towards large-scale implementation. What happens when technology is deeply integrated with the scene? What else can be added to the existing business model and application scenarios? The answer is open. The most difficult thing in exploring the "no man's land" is that there are no referenceable goals, and we can only explore on our own, which requires enduring loneliness. At present, the field of embodied intelligence is favored by capital and favored by the market, which is certainly a good thing. However, some people are becoming anxious and overly optimistic. This has also somewhat affected the public's understanding of the current stage of the embodied intelligence industry. Objectively speaking, the embodied intelligence industry still needs to overcome too many key challenges. For example, when doing household chores, even simple actions such as holding a cup or peeling banana peels still need to be executed by robots through visual recognition, force feedback control, etc., making the process complex and the program cumbersome. At major exhibitions, many household robots frequently "disconnect", and the slow motion may cause onlookers to shout "let me go" for a considerable period of time. But the path of learning to walk is also a necessary path. And trial and error, exploration, have never been calculated by "days" or "times". Just like the success of Yushu Technology and DeepSeek, they are not overnight success stories, but based on long-term persistence year after year. Ultimately, cultivating industries full of unknowns and incubating seemingly distant yet potentially innovative ideas require patience and confidence. At a recent forum, Wang Xingxing, founder of Yushu Technology, predicted that in a few months, robots will run faster than Bolt. The coexistence of "cyber sprinters" and "household waste" is not actually contradictory. Maintain expectations, be patient, time will give us the best answer. (New Society)
