The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) held its annual large-scale tourism briefing on "Hong Kong Tourism Outlook 2026" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on the 18th, attracting nearly 2000 participants both online and offline. At the meeting, representatives from travel agencies, attractions, hotels, aviation, retail, catering, exhibitions, cruise ships and other industries in Hong Kong and overseas, as well as teachers and students from tourism departments of universities, jointly discussed the latest situation of Hong Kong's tourism industry, gained insight into market trends, and learned about the work plan and promotion strategy priorities of the Hong Kong Tourism Board this year. The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Rosamund Law, attended the event. The Chairman of the Tourism Development Bureau, Lin Jianyue, stated that the number of participants in this event has reached a new high in history. The Hong Kong Tourism Board is about to launch a new themed promotional campaign to showcase Hong Kong's diverse, vibrant, and unique tourism experience to the world. We hope to continue working closely with partners from all walks of life this year to create business opportunities, highlight Hong Kong's advantages, and attract more high value-added overnight visitors to visit Hong Kong. Two specialized forums were held on that day. At the "Achieving Exhibition Advantages and Creating Economic Benefits Together" forum, guests discussed and seized the unique advantages and opportunities of Hong Kong's exhibition tourism to create greater economic benefits. At the forum on "Exploring the Diversified Potential of the Tourism Market: High Value Added and Experiential Tourism in the New Era", guests combined the dynamics of the source market, tourist consumption data, and other factors to explore strategies for expanding high-end tourism in Hong Kong. In addition, representatives from the Global Office of the Hong Kong Tourism Board also exchanged views with local tourism operators in Hong Kong, sharing their insights on the development of various source markets and future work priorities.
