Jilin: Judicial Assistance in Building a High Quality Consumption Environment

On March 13th, the High People's Court of Jilin Province held a press conference to report on the judicial protection of consumer rights and interests in Jilin Province for the year 2025, and released typical cases. In 2025, Jilin courts will focus on their judicial trial functions, continuously optimize judicial services, accurately implement judicial measures, strengthen judicial guarantees for people's livelihoods, support the development of trillion level industries, adhere to the close combination of benefiting people's livelihoods and promoting consumption, and consciously regard the protection of consumers' legitimate rights and interests as an important test of practicing the purpose of justice for the people. A total of 5300 disputes related to consumer rights and interests in sales contracts and service contracts were concluded throughout the year, including 5020 first instance cases, 210 second instance cases, and 70 retrial and re trial cases. In 2025, Jilin courts will adhere to unified judicial rules, clarify the division of liability for sellers' claims in accordance with the law, solve the problem of "difficulty in refunding" for prepaid consumption, properly handle service fraud in industries such as medical beauty, increase efforts to protect consumers' right to terminate contracts, and effectively and properly handle the difficulties in resolving consumer disputes. Continuously focusing on consumer demand, opening green channels for filing cases, innovating trial models, empowering the judiciary with digital technology, strengthening the linkage between trial and enforcement, with the goal of "resolving disputes, protecting rights and interests, and promoting standardization", we have launched multiple high-quality judicial services based on the actual trial situation, and promoted the substantive resolution of disputes. Deepen the linkage between the government and the court, improve diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, establish a pre litigation resolution platform, handle complaints and reports of seeking improper benefits in accordance with the law, and consolidate regulatory efforts. Strengthen the promotion of legal knowledge, guide consumers to protect their rights rationally, encourage businesses to operate in compliance with the law, and create a favorable consumption environment.
