According to data recently released by the Ministry of Commerce, the national rural online retail sales will exceed 3 trillion yuan for the first time in 2025, and the online retail sales of agricultural products will reach 783.31 billion yuan, an increase of 6.7% and 9.9% year-on-year, respectively. These impressive achievements confirm the strong momentum of rural e-commerce development. As the core carrier of digital economy empowering the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, rural e-commerce is promoting the deep transformation of rural economy from "external blood transfusion" to "endogenous hematopoiesis", becoming a key support for activating rural resources, cultivating local entities, and improving the resilience of rural economic development. Currently, rural e-commerce in China is characterized by the reconstruction of production and sales links, deep integration of business formats, and sustained growth of entities, injecting multiple core driving forces into the upgrading of rural industries. From multiple dimensions such as development models, resource utilization, and entity cultivation, it profoundly reshapes the development pattern of rural economy. In terms of production and sales integration, rural e-commerce breaks through traditional circulation barriers and achieves direct supply of agricultural products from the source through new models such as live streaming e-commerce. By 2025, the top platforms will assist farmers with over 4 million live broadcasts, with sales of agricultural specialty products exceeding 10 billion units and daily shipments exceeding 20 million units. Allowing farmers to directly connect with the market, forming a virtuous cycle of "production based on sales", significantly enhances the risk resistance and market initiative of the agricultural industry. In terms of business integration, rural e-commerce promotes deep linkage between agriculture, cultural tourism, cultural and creative industries, shifting from single agricultural product sales to diversified value realization of "agriculture+experience+cultural and creative", activating idle resources such as rural ecology and culture, and achieving doubled industrial value. In terms of subject cultivation, the development of rural e-commerce has driven the rapid growth of business entities, and the local operation team and new farmer group have continued to grow, becoming the core force of rural economic development. Rural logistics infrastructure continues to improve, with a coverage rate of 100% for county-level logistics distribution centers nationwide. The construction of agricultural product commercialization facilities is accelerating, laying a solid hardware foundation for the high-quality development of rural industries and promoting the transformation of rural economic development models from extensive to refined and sustainable. Behind this achievement is also the dual efforts of the policy system continuously strengthening and the industry deepening. The "Comprehensive Rural Revitalization Plan (2024-2027)" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council clearly proposes to implement the high-quality development project of rural e-commerce and strengthen the cultivation of digital and e-commerce talents in rural areas. The Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Anchoring Agricultural and Rural Modernization and Solidly Promoting Comprehensive Rural Revitalization, released in February this year, proposed to implement the high-quality development project of rural e-commerce, promote the empowerment of e-commerce platforms, and strengthen the construction of facilities such as pre cooling, storage and preservation, sorting and processing in production areas; Standardize live streaming sales of agricultural products. This series of deployments regards rural e-commerce as an important lever to promote the extension of the agricultural industry chain and activate the rural digital economy. Looking towards the future, rural e-commerce should continue to improve and upgrade its quality, focusing on precise efforts in agricultural product quality, business integration, infrastructure, and other aspects. On the one hand, we must adhere to the bottom line of quality and deepen the integration of business models. Focusing on the demand for consumer upgrading, improving the standardized production and quality control system of agricultural products, relying on the commercialization facilities of agricultural products to enhance the level of product standardization, building the core competitiveness of rural e-commerce with quality and service, and achieving a virtuous cycle of high-quality and cost-effective markets. Integrating cultural resources such as rural agriculture, intangible cultural heritage, and folk customs, creating a consumption loop of "online drainage offline experience online repurchase", promoting the deep integration of live streaming e-commerce with rural cultural tourism, adoption agriculture, etc., expanding the application scenarios of rural e-commerce, and realizing the value upgrade from "selling products" to "selling scenes and culture". On the other hand, cultivate local entities and improve infrastructure. Continuously carry out rural e-commerce skills training, rely on platforms such as the "Rural E-commerce High Quality Development Lecture Hall" to expand training coverage, focus on cultivating local anchors and e-commerce leaders who understand the market and can operate, build a three-level e-commerce service system in counties, towns, and villages, promote the localization and professionalization of e-commerce talents, and consolidate the talent foundation for rural e-commerce development. Continuously promote the construction of county-level logistics distribution centers and township express delivery stations, increase the proportion of rural logistics joint distribution, strengthen the construction of e-commerce supply chains, and promote the quality and efficiency improvement of the entire chain of agricultural products from fields to dining tables. Strengthen the construction of county-level live streaming e-commerce bases, create distinctive e-commerce brands, promote the deep integration of rural e-commerce with the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, and cultivate the endogenous driving force for the long-term development of rural e-commerce, so that rural e-commerce can continue to become a strong engine for the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
