This move marks the official entry of Ningxia's traditional Chinese medicine decoction piece procurement into a standardized new stage of "exchanging quantity for price, improving quality and efficiency". The selected products for this implementation have a wide coverage, covering more than 40 types of Chinese herbal medicines with high demand from the public, such as Huangqi, Codonopsis pilosula, and Angelica sinensis, involving over 3600 product specifications. Unlike before, all the products supplied this time are of better quality and more uniform specifications, aiming to ensure the safety and reliability of medication for the general public from the source. Through centralized volume based procurement, we have obtained tangible price discounts in exchange for the first year's agreed procurement volume of over 460 tons for public medical institutions in Ningxia. ”The relevant person in charge of Ningxia Medical Insurance Bureau introduced that the huge procurement volume effectively squeezed the price water, allowing high-quality herbal medicines to directly reach patients at prices close to the "wholesale price", greatly reducing the burden of medical expenses on the public and also easing the payment pressure of medical insurance funds. This joint procurement has attracted high-quality resources from across the country, with a total of 189 herbal medicine companies supplying to Ningxia, including 2 local enterprises in Ningxia.
