On March 12th, the "Shenguan No. 7 (Kunpeng)" shield tunneling machine of the Shenguan Tunnel (West Section) of the Shenjiang Railway broke through the 3000 meter mark, and the project construction achieved key stage results. The total length of the Shenguan Tunnel (West Section) is about 15.3 kilometers, and the construction section of "Shenguan No. 7 (Kunpeng)" is 3.84 kilometers long. It is a 13 meter large diameter single tunnel double track tunnel with a buried depth span of 9 to 62 meters. It is a key and difficult point as well as a controlling project for the entire Shenjiang Railway. Shenjiang Railway is an important part of the coastal corridor of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. The main line is 116 kilometers long, crossing the the Pearl River Estuary, and connecting Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Zhongshan and Jiangmen. After the completion of the project, Shenzhen and Jiangmen can be connected within one hour. (New Society)
