The Macao SAR Government Tourism Office recently held a Macao tourism promotion event in London, UK, to collaborate with Macao artists, cultural and artistic groups, and the tourism industry. With "culture+creativity" and "tourism+community" as the core, the event aims to promote Macao's diverse tourism elements and "one journey, multiple stops" integrated tourism products, and deeply cultivate the source markets of tourists in the UK and Europe. This event is supported by the Chinese Tourism Office in London. At the promotion event, Lu Zhu, the organizer of Macau's "Burial Fence Culture", shared his experience in integrating cultural heritage, community life, and art; Artist and catering representative Su Wenle showcases the transformation of Macau's daily tea culture into contemporary art. Set up cultural and creative exhibitions such as "MACAO" special theme, local daily lucky bags, and limited edition paintings on site, with a focus on promoting Macau's street markets and community cultural tourism. Su Wenle's painting "Immortal Journey" with the theme of the nodes of the Maritime Silk Road in Macau is exhibited simultaneously, strengthening the cultural and tourism image of Macau's integration of Chinese and Western cultures. Director of the Macao SAR Government Tourism Office, Maria Helena de Almeida, and Director of the Chinese Tourism Office in London, Zhang Li, attended the event. Wen Qihua said that the 30 day visa free entry policy for British tourists into China has been implemented, providing convenience for British tourists to visit Macao, the mainland and the Greater Bay Area. She hopes to use cultural creativity and community vitality as a lever to attract customers, deepen cooperation between the UK and Australian industries, and develop distinctive products that are suitable for the UK market. Zhang Li pointed out that Macao actively integrates into the overall development of the country and participates in the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The Chinese side will make good use of the visa free policy towards the UK to help promote Macau in the UK and Europe, attract more tourists to the Greater Bay Area, and support Macau's long-term prosperity and stability. At the promotion event, Harry Jaggard, a British content creator with 9.5 million cross platform fans, was invited to share his experience of visiting Macau, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen in February and explain the visa free policy. The relevant short films will be released on its social media platforms to increase the popularity of Macau in the UK. It is reported that Macau will be awarded the "Ideal Tourist Destination" by the Portuguese Travel Agency Association in 2026.
