Europe and America have entered the stage of clinical application research, but due to the constraints of complex processes and low production, they are currently in a rare shortage of drugs worldwide and cannot meet the large-scale clinical demand. China's targeted alpha therapy isotopes mainly rely on imports and have long faced problems of short supply and interruption. Sun Liangting told reporters that the project research team has mastered and broken through the key technology of continuous wave superconducting ion linear accelerator, independently designed, developed and verified core technologies such as high-power isotope reaction targets and isotope chemical separation. Based on this, they innovatively proposed a large-scale production technology route for alpha isotopes based on strong current acceleration, and laid out the construction of the "Precision Radiotherapy Alpha Isotope Drug Development Platform (IP-SAFE) based on a hundred kilowatts proton superconducting linear accelerator" in Lanzhou New Area. What is the difference between this cancer treatment technique and the "heavy ion cancer treatment" technique developed by modern physics? Sun Liangting introduced that heavy ion therapy for cancer is the use of high-energy heavy ions generated by acceleration to act on the lesion, and the effect is relatively good for solid tumors.
