Fudan University Shanghai Medical College disclosed on the 5th that the Nutrition Research Institute of Fudan University and the National Active Health Industry Industry Education Integration Community signed a contract in Shanghai to jointly establish the "Active Health Agriculture Laboratory" (hereinafter referred to as the laboratory). Both sides will jointly promote the deep integration of agriculture, food, medical diet, and active health industries, strengthen collaborative innovation between industry, academia, research, and application, and jointly build a medical agricultural integration innovation system. This cooperation will rely on the scientific research accumulation and industrial resources of both parties in the fields of soil nutrition and human nutrition health science, proactive health continuous services, proactive health circular agriculture technology, personalized medical diet digital design, and intelligent manufacturing industry transformation. The laboratory will focus on the research of the correlation between agricultural production methods and human health, providing scientific basis for industrial policy formulation, standard construction, supply chain management, development of service-oriented nutritional dietary products, and active health agriculture certification and testing, thereby promoting the transformation of agricultural production towards clinical nutrition and health value orientation, and assisting in the construction of ecological standardization for the integration of active health agriculture, medicine, and agriculture. Both parties will jointly conduct evidence-based research on the impact of agricultural production methods and agricultural production (processing) methods on health, build a full chain big data resource for agricultural production and processing methods and health, establish innovation bases and cities for active healthy agricultural production methods, and jointly initiate in-depth cooperation in core areas such as the Active Healthy Agriculture and Health Creation Industry Expo. It is reported that this signing is another important layout on the path of collaborative innovation in the field of medical agricultural integration, following the establishment of the Medical Agricultural Integration Center by Fudan University Nutrition Research Institute in January 2026.
