On March 3rd, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong held a special press conference on the white paper "Practice of Safeguarding National Security in Hong Kong under the 'One Country, Two Systems' Policy" for foreign delegations, chambers of commerce, and domestic and foreign media. Commissioner Cui Jianchun gave the keynote speech. More than 130 people attended the press conference, including consuls general and consular officials from over 50 foreign consulates in Hong Kong, heads of over 10 foreign chambers of commerce, heads of multiple international organizations or their Hong Kong offices, and nearly 30 heads of Chinese and foreign media or journalists. Cui Jianchun comprehensively introduced the main content and significance of the white paper in his speech, reviewed the main struggles to maintain national security since Hong Kong's return, clarified that the central government bears fundamental responsibility for national security affairs in Hong Kong, and that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region fulfills its constitutional responsibility to maintain national security. He also introduced Hong Kong's achievements in good governance, judicial rule of law, and economic development from chaos to rule, and shared the practical experience of Hong Kong in maintaining national security under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy. The attendees responded enthusiastically, believing that the content of the briefing was rich, and Cui Jianchun's detailed and in-depth explanation would help foreign residents in Hong Kong to have a more comprehensive and accurate understanding of the principles and practices of safeguarding national security in Hong Kong under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy. It is widely believed that the white paper speaks with facts and data, making the international community more convinced that Hong Kong will maintain its unique advantages in a secure environment, and that Hong Kong's high-level security will safeguard the high-quality development of the "One Country, Two Systems" cause.
