According to data released by the Shenzhen railway department on the 1st, in January 2026, the Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong high-speed railway transported a total of 2.638 million cross-border passengers, ushering in a "good start" to the new year. According to statistics, from January 1 to 31, 2026, the cumulative cross-border passenger flow of the Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong high-speed railway reached 2.638 million. Cross border passenger flow is mainly composed of business travel and leisure tourism, with active two-way flow. Among them, the number of tourists from Hong Kong to mainland China reached 1.234 million, with the main destinations concentrated in core cities of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Dongguan; The number of mainland tourists traveling to Hong Kong reached 1.404 million. To meet the strong demand for passenger travel, the railway department operates 213 mobile train sets per day, providing strong support for cross-border travel needs of passengers. The 'good start' of passenger flow is a direct result of the continuous consolidation of 'hard connectivity' and deepening of 'soft connectivity' in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
