At 9:13 am on January 30th, the G5132 train from Zhanjiang North to Shantou smoothly entered Guangzhou Station, marking the official opening and operation of the Guangzhou Zhanjiang high-speed railway double track introduction project to Guangzhou Station. This opening has achieved seamless integration between Guangzhou Zhanjiang High speed Railway and Guangzhou Station, allowing the Guangzhou Zhanjiang High speed Railway to depart directly from the central urban area of Guangzhou, and also connecting the direct high-speed railway line from Zhanjiang North Station to Shantou Station. After the completion of the line, the fastest travel time from Zhanjiang North Station to Shantou Station has been reduced to 4 hours and 27 minutes. The layout of Guangdong's high-speed railway network, which connects the east and the west, has become increasingly perfect, injecting strong transportation momentum into the coordinated development of the entire province. Relying on the connection between the Guangzhou Zhanjiang High speed Railway and the Guangzhou Shantou High speed Railway, a fast track from Zhanjiang North Station to Shantou Station has officially taken shape, benefiting residents in multiple cities and counties along the route, including Maoming, Yangjiang, Yangchun, Xinxing, Shanwei, and Chaonan. Compared to previous detour routes, the new route has significantly shortened its operating time, making the "two-way travel" between the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the eastern and western regions of Guangdong more convenient and efficient. Starting from February 2nd, Guangzhou Station will officially undertake the departure task of 20 Guangzhou Zhanjiang high-speed trains, with operating hours covering from 8:00 to 20:40 every day; At the same time, five South Guangzhou and Guizhou Guangzhou high-speed trains in Nanning, Wushan and other directions will be adjusted to depart from this station, further meeting the travel needs of people in western and southwestern Guangdong.
