The Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government launched the "Innovation and Technology Accelerator Pilot Program" on the 29th, providing funding for innovation and technology enterprise service organizations to establish accelerator bases in Hong Kong. Qualified innovation and technology enterprise service organizations are welcome to apply before April 30, 2026. A spokesperson for the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Special Administrative Region Government stated that the Chief Executive proposed in the policy address to allocate HKD 180 million to implement the "Innovation and Technology Accelerator Pilot Program", aiming to attract more experienced professional start-up service organizations from home and abroad to establish accelerator bases in Hong Kong, and provide more comprehensive and targeted support for the development and needs of start-up enterprises through their business networks and experience. It is reported that under the "Innovation Accelerator Pilot Program", the SAR government will provide funding in a 1:2 matching ratio between the government and service agencies to cover the necessary expenses for establishing and operating innovation accelerators, with a maximum funding limit of HKD 30 million. The Innovation and Technology Commission of the Special Administrative Region Government has established an evaluation committee composed of individuals with rich experience in technology and business development to review the relevant applications. The evaluation criteria include the experience, operating model, funding and resources, quality of management and project teams, as well as the benefits to the Hong Kong innovation and technology ecosystem.
