The high-speed railway (Hong Kong section) operated by MTR Corporation Limited will add 16 stations, including Nanjing, Wuxi, and Hefei, starting from the 26th. As a result, starting from West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong, the number of accessible mainland stations has increased to 110, covering 19 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. Among the newly added sites, 9 are located within Guangdong Province. The high-speed rail network extends further from the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area to the eastern and northern regions of Guangdong, covering the eastern, northwestern regions of Guangdong except for Yunfu City. So far, the total number of Guangdong stations that Hong Kong high-speed rail can directly reach has reached 46. The other sites added this time are located in East China, Chaoshan, Xiamen, and Fuzhou regions. Among them, the new Shanghai Hongqiao Line trains connect major cities in East China such as Nanjing, Wuxi, and Hefei along the way. During the celebration ceremony on that day, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Meibao, pointed out that the cumulative passenger capacity of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge and the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong High Speed Rail has exceeded 100 million people since their opening more than 7 years ago. She stated that Hong Kong has a unique advantage of being backed by the motherland and connected to the world. Starting from West Kowloon Station, it can access the national high-speed rail network and conveniently reach all parts of the country. MTR Corporation CEO Yang Meizhen stated that the high-speed railway (Hong Kong section) is an important component of the national high-speed railway network, and since its opening, its network coverage and passenger flow have achieved multiple growth. She stated that MTR will continue to closely collaborate with mainland railway departments, continuously optimize and expand high-speed rail services, and help Hong Kong better integrate into the overall development of the country. At the same time, we will deepen cooperation with the tourism industry, promote a new round of "high-speed rail tourism" boom, and further promote tourism and personnel exchanges between the two places. On the same day, MTR Corporation jointly organized the first group event with travel agencies, with over 400 passengers boarding the first newly added train line, and the on-site response was enthusiastic. As one of the first members of the group, Ms. Yang, a Hong Kong citizen, will travel to Nanjing by car. She said she was very excited to experience the new high-speed rail line service firsthand. In her opinion, the continuous expansion of the high-speed rail network not only brings convenience to citizens' travel, but also narrows the distance between Hong Kong and mainland cities. Drinking tea in Hong Kong in the morning and strolling along the Qinhuai River in Nanjing at night is truly a wonderful experience
