The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Paul Chan, departed for Davos, Switzerland on the evening of the 18th to attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting held there from January 19th to 23rd. This year's World Economic Forum Annual Meeting was attended by nearly 3000 leaders from over 130 countries and regions in the fields of politics, business, finance, innovation, science and technology, culture and arts, as well as international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and think tanks, to jointly explore important global political and economic issues. The theme of the annual meeting is "The Spirit of Dialogue", with topics including cooperation in an increasingly competitive world, unleashing new growth drivers, investing better in ourselves, responsibly promoting large-scale applications of technological innovation, and creating sustainable prosperity for the planet. Chen Maobo will attend multiple themed conferences and dinners, and give speeches and participate in discussions. He will also meet with local, business, and financial leaders to introduce the latest situation and new opportunities in Hong Kong. (New Society)
