On January 13th, eight departments including the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the "Several Measures for Cultivating Elderly Care Service Operators to Promote the Development of Silver Hair Economy" (hereinafter referred to as the "Several Measures"), which clearly proposes to vigorously support technology enabled elderly care services and encourage the development of the elderly care service robot industry. The development potential and prospects of China's "silver haired economy" are enormous. The "Several Measures" focus on promoting brand building, facilitating market-oriented supply-demand integration, supporting technological empowerment, optimizing the development environment, and increasing factor support. Fourteen specific measures have been introduced to further cultivate elderly care service operators and promote the development of the "silver economy". The 'Several Measures' propose to vigorously support technology enabled elderly care services. On the one hand, encourage the research and development of elderly care technology and products. Strengthen the digital upgrading of elderly care services, and apply big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and Beidou technology to elderly health monitoring, safety alarms, and personalized customized services. Encourage the development of the elderly care service robot industry, targeting the needs of families and institutions for daily care, emotional companionship, and social support for the elderly, promote cross industry collaboration and technological integration of robot technology, medical rehabilitation, smart homes, etc., and provide comprehensive intelligent elderly care support for the elderly. Accelerate the development of embodied intelligence technology, emerging material technology, genetic technology, rehabilitation aids and other technologies and products, actively explore brain computer interfaces, exoskeleton robots, muscle exoskeleton and other technologies, and provide technological support for elderly people with physical function degradation. On the other hand, support product technology application verification. Support the development of intelligent elderly care devices, rehabilitation nursing robots, and other enterprises to embed them into elderly care service institutions, update and apply new technologies and products, enhance the experience of elderly users through service sharing, equipment leasing, pilot trials, and other methods, accelerate product aging transformation and technological iteration. Supporting cooperation between various elderly care service institutions and intelligent elderly care product development enterprises, relying on community comprehensive service bodies, etc., to open up exhibition and experience zones for intelligent elderly care products, allowing more elderly people to access age appropriate technology.
