The man spent hundreds of thousands of yuan within two months to rent seven luxury cars including Porsche 911, Lamborghini Hurricane, Maserati, etc., and made false motor vehicle registration certificates and other documents, borrowing more than 5.9 million yuan from the victims through pledge. On November 14, 2025, after being prosecuted by the Minhang District Procuratorate of Shanghai, the defendant Huang was sentenced to imprisonment. In October 2022, Mr. Zhang was introduced to his fellow townsman Huang, and the two quickly became acquainted. Huang claimed to do small loans and car rental business, and showed Mr. Zhang business materials such as office location and mortgage rental contracts. Mr. Zhang trusted Huang greatly. The sports car, pledge contract, motor vehicle registration certificate, and driving license are all with me. What are you afraid of? ”Soon, Huang expressed his intention to cooperate with Mr. Zhang. At the end of October of the same year, Huang contacted Mr. Zhang and claimed that he had a Porsche car worth one million yuan. The owner wanted to use this car as collateral for 850000 yuan, but he didn't have enough money on hand. He wanted to "borrow" money from Mr. Zhang and promised to give him six months of interest. If the owner didn't repay the money on time, he would sell the car to offset the debt. Mr. Zhang thought it was a good investment and decided to lend money to Mr. Huang. Subsequently, Huang handed over the car to Mr. Zhang for safekeeping. I got the car, so I didn't think too much about it. ”From October 2022 to January 2023, Huang provided Mr. Zhang with six cars as collateral using the same method, borrowing a total of over 6.7 million yuan. Mr. Zhang, out of trust in Mr. Huang, did not verify the authenticity of these pledge contracts and the actual owners of the vehicles, and even did not meet the so-called pledge "customers". On March 31, 2023, Huang confessed to Mr. Zhang due to financial difficulties. A few days later, Huang and the people from the car rental company found Mr. Zhang and all the luxury cars pledged to him were recovered. In August 2024, Mr. Zhang, who had lost both his money and car, reported to the police helplessly. Subsequently, the police launched an investigation into Huang. After investigation, the police found that Huang was sentenced to imprisonment by a non local court for using similar methods to defraud money, and is currently serving his sentence in a non local prison. In early 2025, Huang was escorted back to Shanghai. On March 3, 2025, the case was transferred to the Minhang District Procuratorate for review and prosecution. The investigating prosecutor sorted and verified evidence such as bank statements, false documents involved in the case, and testimonies of relevant witnesses. After investigation, Huang rented 7 luxury cars as collateral and borrowed a total of 6.75 million yuan from Mr. Zhang. He had already repaid 600000 yuan before the incident, and after deducting the difference in economic transactions between the two parties, there was still over 5.95 million yuan that he was unable to repay. In April 2025, the Minhang District Procuratorate filed a public prosecution for the case. On November 14th, the court sentenced the defendant Huang to 12 years in prison for fraud, in addition to the previous sentence, and decided to execute the sentence of 13 years in prison and a fine.
