On January 8th local time, the Chinese Navy's "Silk Road Ark" hospital ship carrying out the "Harmony Mission-2025" mission arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to begin a 7-day friendly visit and medical exchange activities. This is the first visit of a Chinese naval hospital ship to Brazil. At around 10am, the Brazilian side held a grand welcome ceremony at the pier. The Brazilian Navy Band played the national anthems of both countries, and local Brazilians also performed traditional Chinese lion dance. Brazilian military and political officials, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, as well as representatives of local residents, overseas Chinese, and employees of Chinese funded institutions, welcomed them at the dock. During the visit, the "Silk Road Ark" hospital ship will be open to the public. Representatives from the Pakistani Navy's health department will board the ship to visit and conduct medical exchanges. Pakistani Navy personnel will participate in our hospital ship's combat rescue demonstration. At the same time, the hospital ship will send a team of experts to the Marcioli Diasba Naval Hospital and the Pakistani Naval Combat Medical Center for medical exchanges. It is reported that the "Silk Road Ark" hospital ship plans to conduct joint maritime exercises with the Pakistani Navy on topics such as fleet navigation and joint search and rescue of drowning personnel, in order to enhance the collaborative rescue capabilities of both sides at sea. The hospital ship will also send cultural teams to the Brazilian Chinese Cultural Exchange Association to carry out cultural exchange activities, enhance traditional friendship between China and Pakistan, and strengthen naval exchanges and cooperation between the two countries through activities such as deck receptions.
