In order to promote the construction of the Macau Science and Technology Research and Development Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the "Science and Technology Park") in an orderly manner, the Macau SAR government has extensively listened to the opinions and suggestions of the industry and various sectors of society. The Economic and Technological Development Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the "Bureau") collected public opinions on the construction plan of the Science and Technology Park from November 27 to December 26, 2025. Preliminary analysis results show that the society generally agrees with the construction and development plan of the Science and Technology Park. During the opinion collection period, the Science and Technology Bureau held a total of 7 "Science and Technology R&D Industrial Park Opinion Collection Meetings", including 4 special sessions, 2 public sessions, and 1 high school student session. Members of the Executive Council, Legislative Council, Australian National People's Congress and National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, representatives of the Australian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, members of the Science and Technology Committee, members of the Economic Development Committee, representatives of the science and technology industry, experts and scholars from universities, representatives of clubs, etc., totaling about 630 people attended, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the development positioning, industrial layout, infrastructure support, talent cultivation and introduction policies, industry university research collaboration mechanism, cross-border cooperation mode and other aspects of the industrial park. At the same time, the Macao Economic and Technological Bureau collected opinions from all walks of life through various methods such as opinion collection meetings, special websites, telephone, email, fax, mail, or in person submission. A total of 247 written opinions were received, and a total of 2546 opinions and suggestions were summarized and organized based on content analysis. It is reported that the Macao Science and Technology Research and Development Industrial Park aims to create a new engine to promote the moderate and diversified development of the Macao economy, optimize the Macao science and technology innovation environment, promote the development of the science and technology industry, and create more high-quality employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, bringing new opportunities for the development of Macao's youth. The Science and Technology Park aims to create a "high-quality technology enterprise overseas base, overseas cutting-edge technology project settlement service station, and Macao industry university research base" as its core positioning. It focuses on four key industrial directions: biomedicine, integrated circuits, digital technology, and aerospace technology, and is committed to building an integrated innovation ecosystem of "scientific research incubation transformation service". The preliminary site selection for the science and technology park is Weilong Road and two areas on the west side of the E1 district of the new city. The reporter learned that the working group for the establishment of the Science and Technology Research and Development Industrial Park, led by the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, has been officially established in 2025, promoting relevant work in top-level design, overall planning, and other aspects.
