Hong Kong high-speed rail connecting mainland stations will add 16 more this month

MTR Corporation Limited announced on the 11th that its high-speed railway (Hong Kong section) will add 16 more stations starting from January 26th, increasing the number of direct stations for trains departing from West Kowloon Station to 110. The newly added stations include stations in popular tourist cities such as Nanjing, Wuxi, Hefei, as well as Qingyuan Station, Miluo East Station, Quanzhou East Station, etc. Meanwhile, the sleeper train service at Shanghai Hongqiao Station will increase from Friday to Monday to daily departures; Flights to and from Guangzhou South Station and other stations will also be encrypted. This service upgrade will further facilitate cross-border passenger travel. Passengers can pre order relevant tickets starting from the 12th. MTR Corporation expressed gratitude to the support and collaboration of mainland and SAR government departments, as well as mainland railway units, in promoting this upgrade arrangement. Yang Meizhen, CEO of MTR Corporation, stated that the high-speed rail has been widely welcomed by all sectors since its opening.
