Recently, some of the judicial personnel's names have been hidden and case numbers have been blurred in the documents published online in China. On January 8th, the reporter interviewed the head of the Trial Management Office of the Supreme People's Court regarding this issue. The person in charge stated that in accordance with the requirements of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on "deepening and standardizing judicial transparency", the people's courts adhere to the disclosure of judicial information such as judgment documents, trial activities, and trial processes, and complement the improvement of national information security, citizen personal information, and enterprise legitimate rights and interests protection mechanisms. In order to avoid the negative impact of document disclosure on the life, study, work, production and operation of the parties involved, the people's court has concealed the names of the parties, legal persons and other organizations in online documents. The person in charge mentioned that according to relevant requirements, the names of judicial personnel, judge assistants, and clerks who perform their duties in accordance with the law in the case will not be concealed in online documents. In addition, the case number, as an important identifier for distinguishing the type and order of cases, is also retained. In practice, due to some operators' unfamiliarity with the requirements for document anonymity, they mistakenly omitted the names of judges and case numbers, which is clearly inappropriate. The Supreme Court has paid attention to the above-mentioned issues and has arranged for relevant courts to rectify them. Next, the Supreme People's Court will improve the technical processing standards for online documents, and carry out document anonymity work in a legal, standardized, and orderly manner.
