Set up a 'sweet trap' to deceive under the guise of 'borrowing'

Fictitiously claiming to have a company under one's name and providing 16 million yuan in advance for a project, gaining the trust of the victim and establishing a romantic relationship with them, and then defrauding money by claiming that the company has to pay taxes, entertain guests, etc. Following a public prosecution by the Huairou District Procuratorate in Beijing, the court recently sentenced the defendant Peng to two years and two months in prison and fined him 20000 yuan for fraud. In 2023, Peng was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison by the court for fraudulently obtaining money under the guise of marriage and love. In June 2024, Peng was released after completing his sentence. But just over two months after stepping out of the "iron window", Peng repeated the old trick and carefully set up a "sweet trap" again. In August 2024, Peng met his cousin Xiaoli (not her real name) through the introduction of a Tiktok anchor. After the two of them added WeChat, Peng claimed that he had a company under his name, and Xiaoli could directly become the boss lady of her own company when she came to Beijing. During the process of dating Xiaoli, Peng concealed the fact that he had been sentenced to punishment for marriage fraud. During their relationship, Peng went to Shanghai multiple times to find Xiaoli, gradually gaining her trust and establishing a romantic relationship with her. In the following two to three months, Peng repeatedly borrowed more than 80000 yuan from the deeply in love Xiaoli, citing reasons such as the company's need to pay taxes, temporary lack of funds for a 16 million yuan project, and the need to entertain guests. The money was used by Peng for daily consumption and reward of Tiktok anchor. In November 2024, due to Peng's persistent delay in repaying the money, Xiaoli sued him to the court. The judge found during the trial that Peng had similar criminal civil cross disciplinary cases in other courts, and this time he may be suspected of criminal offenses again. Therefore, the clues were transferred to the public security organs. After Peng was arrested, he truthfully confessed the fact of fraud. After being prosecuted by the Huairou District Procuratorate, the court recently made the above judgment on Peng. (New Society)
