On January 6, at a depth of 109 meters below the sea level at the the Pearl River estuary in Guangdong, with the completion of the assembly of the 2000th ring segment by the "Shenjiang No.1" shield machine with a diameter of 13.42 meters, the Humen section of the the Pearl River Estuary Tunnel of the Shenjiang Railway undertaken by China Railway 14th Bureau broke through 4000 meters, and significant progress was made in the construction of the shield tunnel of the Shenjiang Railway subsea high-speed railway. Shenjiang Railway is an important part of the coastal corridor of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. The line starts from Shenzhen Xili Station, with a total length of 116 kilometers. The main line spans the mouth of the the Pearl River and connects five cities, including Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Zhongshan and Jiangmen.
