Recently, the reporter learned from the Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau that during the 14th Five Year Plan period, the fourth national cultural relics census in Shanxi Province achieved phased results. The 53875 cultural relics registered in the third national cultural relics census were "fully rechecked", and more than 5000 new cultural relics were discovered. Over the past five years, Shanxi has been deeply involved in the Chinese Civilization Exploration Project and the "Archaeological China" major project, continuously carrying out 68 proactive excavation projects such as Qiliping in Qinshui, Taosi in Xiangfen, and Dongxiafeng in Xiaxian, and has achieved important archaeological results. We have conducted over 4950 archaeological investigations and explorations for infrastructure construction, excavated over 800 archaeological sites, unearthed more than 77000 cultural relics specimens, and relocated and protected over 160 ancient tombs, pottery kilns, and more. It is reported that Shanxi has established a special protection mechanism for 39 national treasure level cultural relics under the "one treasure, one policy" policy, implemented a digital strategy for cultural relics, and achieved a coverage rate of 93% for salvage projects of wooden ancient buildings before and during the Yuan Dynasty. In the past five years, social forces have adopted 379 cultural relics and buildings, attracting more than 200 million yuan in social funds and creating the Shanxi model of "protecting treasures for all". In addition, Shanxi actively explores new channels and mechanisms for the protection of low-level cultural relics, and has implemented 567 low-level cultural relic protection and restoration projects in three years. As of the end of the 14th Five Year Plan, there were 226 registered museums in the province, including 144 state-owned museums and 82 non-state-owned museums, and the cultural and museum craze continued to heat up.
