On the 29th, it was learned from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Water Resources that since the Zhuxiandong Reservoir supplied water to Macau in 1960, as of December 28th, Guangdong's water supply to Macau has reached 2.907 billion cubic meters. Currently, the daily water supply guarantee capacity to Macau has reached an average of 700000 cubic meters, and the continuous supply of clean water has built a solid water guarantee for Macau's long-term development. Over the years, under the framework of Guangdong Macao water supply cooperation, the construction of the Zhuhai Macao raw water system has been continuously improved, and the ability to guarantee raw water has been continuously enhanced. The Zhuxiandong Reservoir in Zhuhai was built in 1959, and the Zhuyin Reservoir project was completed in 2011, adding 40.18 million cubic meters of storage capacity and increasing the freshwater reserve of the water supply system by about 65%, greatly improving the space for grabbing fresh water during the dry season. From the Zhuzhoutou Pump Station, Pinggang Pump Station, Guangchang Pump Station, West East Water Diversion Phase I and II water supply projects, to the opening of the fourth water supply pipeline to Australia in 2019, and to the ongoing Pinggang Pump Station Phase II and Nanhong Tunnel, the water supply system to Australia has continued to operate smoothly, upgrading from a "single line" to a "dual source guarantee". At present, Zhuhai Doumen Pinggang Pump Station Phase II Expansion Project has entered the pre commissioning stage. The key water intake pump station of the Modaomen water system in Xijiang will increase its daily water intake capacity to 3.6 million cubic meters after expansion, providing another solid guarantee for water supply to Australia. At the same time, the 4.25-kilometer-long Hongwan Pumping Station to Nanping Reservoir Tunnel is about to be completed, forming a new pattern of "water intake and storage linkage" with Nanping Reservoir, further enhancing the emergency water supply capacity to Australia. The relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Water Resources introduced that under the mechanism of the Guangdong Macao Cooperation Joint Conference, the normalized cooperation mechanism for water supply cooperation between the governments of Guangdong and Macao continues to deepen. The Guangdong Macao Water Supply Cooperation Task Force and Technical Group hold regular meetings to strengthen communication and exchange cooperation in various aspects such as water resource protection, water environment governance, and water use planning.
