The Forum on University Cultural and Creative Cooperation was recently held at Peking University. This forum was jointly initiated by Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and others. 187 representatives from 80 universities across the country and 52 representatives from cultural and creative enterprises discussed the high-quality development of cultural and creative industries in universities. As a platform for cultural inheritance and innovation, universities shoulder the triple mission of cultural inheritance, educational functions, and social services. Their profound cultural heritage and unique innovation capabilities are important endowments for the development of cultural and creative industries. ”Dong Zhiyong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Peking University, stated that Peking University will work together with its sister universities to build a cultural and creative development system that integrates cultural inheritance and innovation, inter school collaboration and resource sharing, and coordinates social and economic benefits, promoting the development of university cultural and creative industries towards "cluster expansion". Shan Jixiang, Director of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics and Director of the Academic Committee of the Palace Museum, gave a speech titled "Telling Chinese Stories and Spreading Traditional Chinese Culture". Combining with the practical experience of cultural and creative activities in the Palace Museum, he elaborated on the path and methods of contemporary transformation of traditional culture, and believed that universities should deeply explore cultural connotations, innovate expression forms, and revitalize classic cultural contexts. Professor Zhang Yiwu from the Department of Chinese at Peking University focuses on "cultural development and global cultural influence", analyzing the unique value of universities in cross-cultural communication from a global perspective. He suggests using cultural and creative industries as a bridge to construct an international expression system for Chinese culture. At the same time, the forum will set up sub forums for cultural and creative development, operation, and dissemination, where industry experts and university representatives will share in-depth information based on practical cases. During this period, the forum also hosted university cultural and creative exhibitions and cultural and creative enterprise exhibitions, showcasing outstanding cases of university cultural and creative industries.
