On December 24, 2025, in the microalgae breeding workshop of Ailun Bay Marine Ranch in Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, technical workers were inspecting the breeding status of microalgae. This ranch is the first "zero carbon" smart energy demonstration zone for marine ranches in Shandong Province. The workshop adopts modern intelligent breeding technology, which monitors real-time illumination, temperature and humidity, and water quality through advanced sensors, and links with automated equipment to accurately regulate the growth environment, ensuring the optimal growth of microalgae. Microalgae have both high economic and ecological value, serving as the foundation of the marine food chain and contributing to carbon sequestration in the ocean. They can also be widely used in the fields of food, medicine, and bioenergy. In recent years, Rongcheng has promoted the transformation and upgrading of the marine economy, building a green and intensive aquaculture industry chain with Ellen Bay as a benchmark, achieving a win-win situation for economic and ecological benefits.
