Samir Anguni, CEO of the World Free Zone Organization, recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that the island wide closure of Hainan Free Trade Port is a key measure to establish a high standard free trade system, demonstrating the Chinese government's determination to steadily promote institutional opening up. The closure operation will accelerate trade flow, promote industrial development, attract investment in manufacturing, service and advanced logistics fields, and promote Hainan to become a globally competitive hub. Hainan Free Trade Port launched the island wide closure operation on the 18th. This is a landmark measure of China's unwavering commitment to expanding high-level opening-up and promoting the construction of an open world economy. Anguni believes that free trade zones and ports have now become "integrated nodes" of regional and global supply chains, serving as hubs for modern logistics, digital economy, high value-added services, and sustainable development projects. He said that in order to maintain competitiveness and differentiation, free trade zones and ports must have innovative capabilities, especially in key areas such as digital customs, automation technology, and circular economy that shape the next generation of free trade zones and ports. Anguni has visited Hainan four times and was deeply impressed by this beautiful and comfortable island. He stated that Hainan Free Trade Port has a complete infrastructure, efficient transportation system, and high-quality hotel services, and has obvious development advantages. In the future, Hainan Free Trade Port will strengthen cooperation with ASEAN, South Asia, and the Middle East in areas such as maritime, aviation, and digital economy, and is expected to become an important platform for regional cooperation. Anguni pointed out that China's high standard and high-quality construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port has sent a clear signal to the outside world, demonstrating China's determination to promote high-level opening-up and bringing new development opportunities to developing countries and emerging market economies. He stated that the World Free Zone Organization is willing to deepen cooperation with Hainan in training, policy consultation, scientific research collaboration, and global network integration. The World Free Zone Organization was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting innovation and development in free zones worldwide. (New Society)
