On December 20th, Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, announced that the Hong Kong Park of the Hetao Shenzhen Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone (Hetao Hong Kong Park) will officially open on December 22nd. Currently, more than 60 enterprises and institutions from the fields of life and health technology, microelectronics, new energy, and artificial intelligence at home and abroad have signed leases with the park and are gradually settling in. Sun Dong posted a blog on the same day, stating that in the past year, the SAR government has united all sectors of society to promote the construction of the park. The first phase of three buildings has been completed, and the construction of the remaining five buildings is being pushed forward at full speed, striving to complete them gradually from 2027. In terms of attracting investment, Sun Dong said that the market has responded positively to the development of the Hong Kong Industrial Park in Hetao, and the utilization rate of the two wet laboratory buildings has reached 80%. The cross-border convenient flow of innovative elements between the two parks of Shenzhen and Hong Kong is the key to implementing the development concept of "one river, two banks" and "one zone, two parks" in the entire Hetao Cooperation Zone. He stated that the Hetao Cooperation Zone will become a forefront position to support the construction of the country's modern industrial system and accelerate high-level technological self-reliance, adding a finishing touch to the development of the entire Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. It is reported that according to the development plan of the Hetao Hong Kong Park, the first phase of the park will be completed in an orderly manner by 2030, and a comprehensive development pattern will be formed by 2035, with a thriving overall innovation and technology ecosystem.
