The 6th "World Archaeological Forum · Shanghai", co sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the National Cutural Heritage Administration, was held in Shanghai from 15th to 18th. At this forum, "significant field archaeological discoveries" and "important archaeological research achievements" were gathered, which is a concentrated presentation of archaeological discoveries and research progress worldwide in the past two years. The 'Major Field Archaeological Discoveries' include 11 archaeological investigations and excavations from Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and other regions. Among them, the "Research on the Civilization Process of Hongshan Society" project, led by the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and jointly participated by archaeological and cultural institutions and universities in Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, and Hebei provinces, as well as the "Shaanxi Qingjianzhaigou Site: Shang Dynasty Bronze Civilization Center on the Loess Plateau" project organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology, China, are on the list. The relevant achievements provide crucial archaeological support for a deeper understanding of the formation and development of the diverse and integrated cultural pattern of Chinese civilization. The "Important Archaeological Research Results" include 11 research achievements from fields such as molecular archaeology and climate archaeology. The project of "From Convergence to Integration: Population Interaction in Central and Southern Inner Mongolia during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty" carried out by the Key Laboratory of Scientific Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Protection of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the project of "Molecular Archaeology Research: Mapping Population Migration, Evolution and Adaptation in East Asia for 100000 Years" carried out by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences were selected. During the 4-day forum event, nearly 300 scholars from 43 countries will engage in exchanges across various fields, from field archaeology to laboratory science, from theoretical innovation to heritage conservation, from academic research to community cooperation.
