On December 11th, 2025, the National Blood Management Work Conference and the National Commendation Conference for Unpaid Blood Donation were held in Beijing. The National Health Commission, the Chinese Red Cross Society, and the Health Bureau of the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission jointly commended the winners of the National Commendation and Award for Unpaid Blood Donation. The PLA has 11 exemplary organization and 159 exemplary individual who have won the national commendation and award for unpaid blood donation, which is a microcosm of the contribution of all officers and soldiers to the healthy development of national unpaid blood donation. The military health system attaches great importance to blood donation work. From voluntary blood donation to organizing voluntary blood donation, all military officers and soldiers regard blood donation work as their responsibility and make important contributions to saving the lives of the people, promoting the development of the health industry, and enhancing military and civilian health. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, the military organized nearly one million people to participate in voluntary blood donation. The blood management work of the entire army is steadily developing, and a management system for blood organization, regulations, and quality supervision and monitoring has been established. The whole army relies on military hospitals to build multiple regional blood centers and blood stations, among which most blood stations (blood centers) can carry out services such as whole blood collection, component preparation, component collection, and autologous blood transfusion. Some blood stations (blood centers) have the ability to prepare all essential blood components, and their blood collection and supply capabilities are steadily improving. In order to effectively improve the quality of voluntary blood donation services, improve incentive and reward measures for voluntary blood donors, and promote the interconnection of voluntary blood donation information between military and civilian areas, the Health Bureau of the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission, in conjunction with the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission, has made special arrangements for the interconnection of voluntary blood donation information between military and civilian areas. Leaders and experts from provincial and municipal health commissions, military and civilian blood stations have been organized to discuss the time range, data content, and military civilian connection methods for pushing voluntary blood donation information from military and civilian blood stations, ensuring that they enjoy equal rights and interests in voluntary blood donation. Next, the military health system and troops will vigorously carry out publicity and education, continuously strengthen the construction of blood collection and supply institutions, improve supporting equipment, enhance talent cultivation, and improve the ability to serve blood donors; Strengthen blood management supervision, ensure the safety of blood recruitment, collection, testing, storage, transportation, and use, and make due contributions to ensuring the clinical use of blood in military and civilian areas.
