The reporter learned from the "2026 China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Deep Observation Report" held recently that in 2025, artificial intelligence technology will rapidly iterate and be at a critical turning point from technological innovation to real productivity transformation. Preliminary estimates suggest that the scale of China's core artificial intelligence industry is expected to exceed 1.2 trillion yuan this year. Wei Kai, Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, said at the presentation that since the beginning of this year, based on the large model testing data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the model has significantly improved in language and multimodal understanding abilities, with comprehensive abilities increasing by 30% and 50% respectively. As a product of the combination of large models and robots, embodied intelligence has developed rapidly under the promotion of policies and capital, with a financing amount of over 40 billion yuan and more than 350 upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry. At the report meeting, Du Ying, Deputy Director of the Institute of Wireless and Mobile Communications at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, introduced that during the 14th Five Year Plan period, China's 6G is in a critical stage of clear definition of vision requirements, initial achievements in technological breakthroughs, and comprehensive launch of standard research. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, the focus will be on developing standards and industries, with commercial applications expected to be launched around 2030. Du Ying further introduced that during the 15th Five Year Plan period, the key tasks for the development of 6G include deepening the research and development of technology and standards, strengthening the research on integrated solutions and architectures for communication, perception, intelligence, computing, satellite, etc; Intensify technical testing and product development, and establish a 6G testing network; Strengthening international cooperation on 6G, etc. In terms of business prospects, it is expected that by 2035, large-scale commercial deployment of 6G will be achieved, which is expected to cultivate a trillion yuan 6G industry and application market. In addition, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) has released the "Top 10 Trends for In Depth Observation in 2026", including the reshaping of development momentum through mode transitions and the display of growth resilience in the information and communication technology industry; Collaborative innovation in technology industry applications, AI value transformation into real productivity; The key capabilities of the model continue to evolve, and autonomous agents become the landing core. In the view of Wang Zhiqin, Vice President of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the top ten trends closely follow the forefront hotspots of the industry, research and propose future technological and industrial development directions, and provide professional references for all parties in the industry chain to seize development opportunities and accurately layout. The "2026 China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Deep Observation Report Conference" was held in Beijing from December 12th to 13th, with the theme of "New Quality Productivity Development under the Wave of Artificial Intelligence in the Face of the 15th Five Year Plan". There were more than 10 special forums covering cutting-edge topics such as new industrialization, cutting-edge information and communication technologies, innovative applications of artificial intelligence, deep integration of data and reality, and network security governance.
